The great south of madagascar

The great south of Madagascar has five administrative subdivisions or districts: Ihorombe in the centre at the extreme of the Highlands, Atsimo-Andrefana at southwest part, Androy at south extreme part, Anosy formed by the southeast and one part of the highland and Atsimo-Atsinana at the south extreme of the Madagascar’s east coast line.
The climate and the landscape are quite different for the East, the West and the centre. The East is like an extension of the east of Madagascar which is formed by the East rain forest. The West is a bit dry and the vegetation is mainly cactuses. The semi arid climate is observed on the highlands of Madagascar, from central north to central south.
Inhabitants are about 2,430,100 persons who are belonging to five ethnic groups such as Mahafaly resident in south-west, Antandroy in the capital city and the south extreme, Antanosy in the south east and in mid centre, and Bara in the centre. All the women in this area plait their hair but not in the same way but in a specific manner for each which is distinguishing the ethnic groups that they belong to as well as their own style of wearing their Lamba or a kind of veil.
Indigenous people of each district have also their different occupations, too for coastline parts they are living on fishing and on the highlands on agriculture and cattle raising. The Tourism Industry starts to exploit the natural resources of the region. Many infrastructures of reception are built where attractions are available for visitors.
